Rosh Hashanah 2013 prayer

Crowning the King

The crown of thorns He wears
and the scars He bears
Reminds us of the suffering He embraced
So that one day we will know Him face to face
His pain and shame bring about life and victory
for us for all eternity

Although His crown may change with His earthly rein
His scars will still remain.
They speak forth volumes to all who see
Oh beautiful mystery
How you transform trials to trophies of your amazing grace
When we turn and seek your face

To behold Thee the King of Glory
This is my plea
For this new year
To be free of fear
And full of love
As I set my gaze above
To the One on the throne
And be in awe of the fact that I am never alone
He designed me, sees me, knows me, walks with me and His Spirit lives in my heart
So that with everything within me I can sing my God, my God, how Great Thou art

The Birthday Hat

For my birthday, the kids got me this fun hat. I had such a great time wearing it around that I thought it would be fun to make it a new family tradition for the birthday person to wear it especially with Harrison's 16th birthday coming up. Harrison turned 16 today it is hard to believe it has been 8 years since I met him. Not enough good things can be said about him. He loves the Lord, loves people and has a way of making everyone feel comfortable around him. Like we always say, "Who doesn't love Harrison?"

He was surprised to see the hat but he was a good sport and wore it for most of the party.

Grandma always gets the funny card

You can tell she still thinks it is funny

It was a good night sharing stories about Harrison
This picture was taken earlier in the day and just shows how much he is loved by his siblings and how good he is to all of them. He is talking to Noah playing with Valor and letting Dassah hold his hand.

Castle Party

WE DECIDED TO DO A JOINT BIRTHDAY PARTY FOR THE KIDS EVERY OTHER YEAR. THIS YEAR'S THEME WAS A CASTLE PARTY. IT WAS A FITTING THEME SINCE NOAH HAS BEEN EXHIBITING QUALITIES OF BEING A PROTECTOR AND CARE TAKER OF HIS SISTER AND BROTHER. DASSAH HAS BEEN LEARNING ABOUT BEING A PRINCESS OF THE KING OF KINGS. SHE IS LEARNING THAT THE KING LOVES AND DELIGHTS IN HER BUT ALSO WHAT PARTS SHE CAN PLAY IN HIS KINGDOM.

Happy 90th Birthday Gram!

My Gram turned 90 this week, so we threw her a party tonight. It was not just any party though. My sister and her kids had the great idea to make it a 'Grammy Awards' night for Gram's 90th birthday. She got out the red carpet and all. We had such a wonderful time celebrating with Gram. She is a pure joy to be around. Below are a couple of pictures from the party.
