His Hands

His hands

Tender and strong

His hands

Hold all things together

His hands

Embrace us and those we love

His hands

Give and Take

His hands

Create and destroy

His hands

Lead us and tell us to wait

His hands

Reach for us and rescue us

His hands

Wipe away our tears and silence our fears

His hands

Mold us and shape us

His hands

Clap and rejoice over us

His hands

Comfort and Challenge us

His hands

Are a safe place

Therefore, it is into

His hands

That I commit my Spirit

Moments like these....

Dassah was taking a nap and I told Noah he could watch a movie because Mama was going to spend some time with the Lord. Here is how our conversation went:

Noah: Mama can I spend time with the Lord with you?
Me: Sure
Noah: (went to go get his Bible): Mama can I have a notebook like you to write in?
Me: What are you drawing Noah?
Noah: What I am learning in my Bible
Me: What are you learning?
Noah: That I don't have to be afraid because God is with me
Me: That is good, how did you learn that?
Noah: There is a picture of a lion in my bible and God was with Daniel in the lion's den so he wasn't afraid.
Me: That is good Noah.
Noah: Did you know that even if you get killed God protects you?
Me: How is that?
Noah: Because we just go to heaven
Me: You are right
Noah: I can't wait to see how big God is when I go to heaven
Me: He is really big
(a few minutes later)
Noah: What are you learning Mama?
Me: That God is King and wears a crown
Noah: A crown of thorns?
Me: Now that He is in heaven he doesn't wear the crown of thorns but a crown of gold
Me: What about you did you learn anything else?
Noah: God is SOOOO strong
Me: How did you know that?
Noah: There is a picture of weights (dumbells) in my Bible
Noah: What else are you learning, Mama?
Me: That God wants us to praise Him, what about you?
Noah: That spiders can bite you, What else are you learning, Mama?
Me: That God wants us to take communion
Noah: That is good, mama,  the bread is for His body and the wine is His blood right?
Me: Very good...What else are you learning?
Noah: That He loves me
Me: Did you know he know every hair on your head?
NOah:( laughs) What esle are you learning about, Mama?
Me: That God says His name is the I AM
Noah: (with excitment in his voice) That is right Mama, He told Moses that at the burning bush
Me: What are you doing Noah? (he was real quiet)
Noah: Just waiting on the Lord, and you know what He told me the same thing He told Moses that He is the I AM.
( Then Noah turned some pages in his Bible and found a picture of the burning bush)
Noah: Look Mama, it is the story we were talking about
( He then takes his notebook out and tries to draw the fire)
Noah: Why don't you wait on the Lord and see what He tells you?
Me: "He said that He is my Papa"
Noah: What ? with a laugh
Me:  God is our Father and all who believe in Him are His children
Noah: you and me are his children?
Me: Yep
Noah: because we are so small... but what about Papa?
Me: Papa is his child too, we are all in God's big family
Noah: But Papa is big
Me: God is even bigger than Papa
Noah: (with a look of awe) God is bigger than Papa. He must be really big.

This was one of the best times with the Lord, I have had in a long time... His presence was so sweet. Thank you Lord.

A birthday post

Thanks for all the birthday blessings via phone call, text, email, via facebook, real mail, and in person with hugs. I felt loved and valued. I woke up with a special treat of getting to go to breakfast with Susan at Einstein's bagels and getting beautiful flowers from DeAnn.

While I was away Paul took the kids to go get me a little something special. When I came back, to my surprise they got me a dog that looks just like the dog I had growing up: cookie. Except this one was ballon that you could walk.
Paul and the kids took me down to the plaza to eat at noodles and company and get some free ice cream at coldstones. Noah took "cookie" the dog with him while we walked the Plaza and Paul counted he got over a 100 comments from people about how cute he was. Here are a couple pictures.

When we got back back we worked on a special project for my birthday buddy, Zeke. It is his second birthday. So we decided to start a tradition and let the number of balloons up for how old zeke and wyatt are on their birthdays. We made notes for zeke and put them in the balloons as we released them up to heaven. His little life is missed so much on a daily basis as I know we would have seen him and played with him almost daily.

Later on in the day Leah and little Cassie came over to bring me flowers and artwork. I hugged Leah for a long time and the tears just started flowing for both of us, no words were really needed. I am still amazed at how much she loves on me in the midst of pain. She got me roses each color has a significant meaning. And Cassie's artwork, holds the prominent place on the frig.

One of my most treasured artwork in my house is a picture wyatt made for me. I framed it and put it over my desk.  I have learned to treasure these gifts and these moments. Thanks everyone again for making my birthday special. I love you all.

The embrace

Today I was looking at this picture and the Lord started speaking to me through it. I felt like He said, "See how big her smile is that is how I feel when you let me embrace you. In the same way that she would hug and embrace as many babies as she can find, that is how I am with my children... my arms reach out to embrace them all."

May you run into the Lord's embrace today and feel His enjoyment, and see His smile over you!
