A birthday post

Thanks for all the birthday blessings via phone call, text, email, via facebook, real mail, and in person with hugs. I felt loved and valued. I woke up with a special treat of getting to go to breakfast with Susan at Einstein's bagels and getting beautiful flowers from DeAnn.

While I was away Paul took the kids to go get me a little something special. When I came back, to my surprise they got me a dog that looks just like the dog I had growing up: cookie. Except this one was ballon that you could walk.
Paul and the kids took me down to the plaza to eat at noodles and company and get some free ice cream at coldstones. Noah took "cookie" the dog with him while we walked the Plaza and Paul counted he got over a 100 comments from people about how cute he was. Here are a couple pictures.

When we got back back we worked on a special project for my birthday buddy, Zeke. It is his second birthday. So we decided to start a tradition and let the number of balloons up for how old zeke and wyatt are on their birthdays. We made notes for zeke and put them in the balloons as we released them up to heaven. His little life is missed so much on a daily basis as I know we would have seen him and played with him almost daily.

Later on in the day Leah and little Cassie came over to bring me flowers and artwork. I hugged Leah for a long time and the tears just started flowing for both of us, no words were really needed. I am still amazed at how much she loves on me in the midst of pain. She got me roses each color has a significant meaning. And Cassie's artwork, holds the prominent place on the frig.

One of my most treasured artwork in my house is a picture wyatt made for me. I framed it and put it over my desk.  I have learned to treasure these gifts and these moments. Thanks everyone again for making my birthday special. I love you all.

I am really moved by how you commemorate the boys with balloons and notes and in the middle of it you still allow yourself to be celebrated by others that love you so much. It must be a beautiful and hard thing to do. Something really hits me as I read this - like it's tapping into a new level of the Father's heart for us. Happy Birthday Lauren. You are amazing.

lauren, you are beautiful. i'm so glad the Lord has given you as a gift to so many people. i'm so glad you felt the love and could have special celebrations with your family. and i'm glad that you live in the tension of sadness and joy with the full hope and joy of the Lord as your strength. i love you!

Oooh, sorry I missed your birthday. It sounds like it was so special. I love the dog! I think a balloon dog is the best kind to have - if only they could chase away bears and mountain lions!
Love the balloon sending. I'm sure Zeke was tickled over them.
