10 year reunion

I visited Wheaton College for my ten year reunion this weekend. Below is a picture of the Billy Graham Center. This is where I spent most of my time at Wheaton both for my undergrad and graduate degree. I could not have been more blessed by the professors and classes I took there. It was truly life changing.

Along with the classes and professors, I had the huge privilege to live with some amazing godly woman my senior year. I transferred into Wheaton in the middle of my Junior Year, so living with these woman my senior year was such a blessing. All of us who lived in the house together expect for one, was able to come to the reunion. It was so great to look at pictures, remember stories and share what is going on in our lives right now. We were able to pick up right where we left off. We took a tour of our old house, which now is a house full of guys.

Our hotel just happened to be walking distance from an Einsteins so we couldn't resist.

While in Chicago, I also was able to spend some quality time with Art's brother Matt. It was so refreshing to be with him. Unfortunately we didn't take any pictures. I also got to have some quality time with my friend Leslie who has been in China for the last 5 years. I stayed one night with her and her husband in downtown Chicago. We got up early in the morning and went running on lake shore drive. It was simply beautiful. Here is a picture of her in action.

I spent the rest of the day on Monday, with my friend and former Professor Nancy Grisham. She has been such a huge influence on my life. I am always encouraged after being with her. We walked, talked and took pictures around the Morton Arboretum. The Arboretum has a special significance for me. It is one of the first places Art and I went on a date. Also, his hockey team dedicated a tree in there to Art. We found the tree and spent some time there reflecting and taking pictures.

It was so great to catch up with you, Lauren, just as if no time had passed. It sounds like the rest of your weekend went really well, too. The tree in the Arboretum is beautiful - how special to get to visit it with Nancy.

Ruble went to Wheaton and graduated in 2001! I wonder if you guys ever ran into each other. He was on the wrestling team and probably went by John back then. We wanted to go to his 10 year homecoming but thought I'd be too busy with work. Someday though; I really want to see it! Glad you had a great time.
