big changes

This month our house has been in the middle of a makeover. I guess you could say my nesting urge has begun
to set in as I am now only 2 months away from our little hadassah being here. We moved harrison down to the basement bedroom, so noah got harrison's big boy bed.
He has only fallen out of the bed a couple of times. In the morning half the time he wakes up and turns his sound machine off and comes to wake me up. The other half he yells for me to come get him. The first option is obviously way better.

Harrison is enjoying his new room. We got him a bunk/futon bed. He uses the top part for storage and loves having the couch turn into a double bed. On one of the first nights he slept down there, Paul and I were able to lay in bed with him to pray. Then Noah heard us so he came in too. Noah said, "We are all in Harrison's big bed - even Hadassah too." It was definitely a highlight for me having the whole family snuggling in bed together. I will post some pictures later of harrison's new room.

Some other exciting things going on are that we had a random knock on the door from a tree trimmer who was from Minnesoda looking for work in the winter. He gave us a great price on our tree - that we don't like for various reasons. Paul talked to him and got him down even lower on the price. They came that day, and cut it down. Paul, Noah and I had a great time watching them from the window since it was so cold outside. The only downside was that they said they would leave us nice fire wood; however, the definition of that in minnesota apparently is way different than in kansas. When questioned about it he said they would cut it smaller for a price that we are not willing to pay. So it looks like Paul might be out there with his dad's chain saw in the spring.

We also got new windows put in. Paul's uncle gave us a great deal and with the tax credit it was hard to pass up. Our house definitely feels a lot warmer already. Paul and his dad were busy taking down and putting up the blinds this past week. His parents have been a huge help. In addition, they have also helped us clean out Harrison's old room to prepare for Hadassah. Paul's mom took me shopping to get some fun stuff for her room, and we've had fun decorating together. Paul's dad also helped remove the carpet in our room, as we found our original hard wood floors in great shape! After removing tack boards and staples, an area rug has made the master room look new again. We couldn't have done it without them.

Pictures to come of the three refurbished rooms ...

Funny Noah sayings:

Noah are you a big boy: "No, mama I am a big man"

Noah got up really early one morning. I said, "Noah, everyone is still asleep. It is still dark." He said, "But mama, you are awake."

I was making dinner for some guests when Noah came in the kitchen and said really loud, "Mama, I have a bugar, do you want me to put it in there (the food)?"

I said, "Noah, what do you want for lunch?" He said, "Suckers."

The other day when I told him we had to stop by the bank first he said, "Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh, mama, banks are fun. (long pause) I get suckers there."

Paul and Noah think it is really funny to lick on the cheek. Noah tried to do it to me the other day. I said "No, Mama likes kisses. Only you and Papa do the licks." He took my face in his hands and said, "Relax, Mama." Then he licked me.

I said, "Noah, can you please put those toys back." Noah said, "I'm busy." (He was just standing there though.) I said, "What are you busy doing?" He said, "I don't know." I said, "Well, then pick these up and then you can be busy." He said OK and picked them up.

He loves pink right now (because of pink ice cream), and he loves parties. So unsurprisingly, we asked, "What kind of party do you want?" He said, "Pink."

Been thinking of you a bunch over the last few weeks and just got caught up on your blog. Love the Noah stories - he's so smart and so cute, too! I think he look so much like his beautiful mama. Praying for you and your precious daughter-on-the-way! Love you! Beth
